Format numbers, dates and currencies
Show numbers as currency, percentages, dates, times or with a fixed number of decimals.
- Select the cells.
- On the Home tab, open Number Format and choose a format: number, currency, accounting, percentage, date, time, scientific, text and more.
- Use the increase and decrease decimal buttons to change the decimals.
For full control, right-click and choose Format Cells, then the Number tab. You can build a custom format there.
Note
The format changes how a value looks, not the value itself.
