Protect sheets and ranges
Stop people from changing a sheet or some cells, even if they can edit the spreadsheet.

Protect a sheet
On the Review tab, choose Protect sheet. Edits on that sheet are refused until protection is removed.
Protected ranges
- On the Review tab, choose Protected ranges.
- Add a range and a description.
- Choose who can edit it: only the owner and the people you list, or anyone after a warning.
Cells others can't edit freely are marked with stripes. A refused edit explains why.
Plan
Protected ranges are available on Pro, Business and Enterprise.
