Older .doc files

Qalam can't open the old .doc format (97–2003). Open it in another word processor, save it as .docx, then import that.

"This file isn't a valid Word document (.docx) or is damaged"

The file is corrupt or isn't really a .docx. Try saving it again from the program that made it.

"Files with macros or ActiveX controls can't be stored"

Save the file without macros (as .docx, not .docm) and import it again.

"This file was blocked because it contains malware"

The file is infected and can't be stored.

"You do not have access to this document"

Ask its owner to share it with you, or check you're signed in with the right account.
