Import, open and download documents
Open .docx and other files in Qalam, and download documents as .docx, PDF and other formats.

Import a file
- On Qalam's home page, select Import a file.
- Choose a file:
.docx,.odt,.html,.md,.txtor.rtf. - Choose the Khazna folder to put it in.
The document opens in Qalam. A .docx file in Khazna also opens directly with Open in Woosool Qalam. Tracked changes in a .docx become suggestions.
When you import another format, Qalam shows a notice; select Save as Word document to keep a .docx copy in Khazna.
Download
- Open File › Download.
- Choose a format:
.docx, PDF, web page (.html), Markdown (.md), plain text (.txt), OpenDocument (.odt) or EPUB e-book (.epub).
PDF files keep real, selectable text, including Arabic.
Note
Older .doc files (97–2003 format) can't be opened. Save them as .docx in another word processor first. See A file won't open.
