Send a password-protected message

Send a confidential message to someone without encryption keys, protected by a password you share separately.

Web

When a recipient has no encryption key, you can still send them a confidential message.

  1. Write an encrypted message to them (see Send encrypted messages).
  2. When Barid says some recipients can't receive encrypted mail, choose Password-protect for them.
  3. Set a password, an optional hint and an expiry date.
  4. Send. Tell them the password another way — in person or by phone.

They receive a link to a Woosool page, enter the Password and select Open message. The message is decrypted in their browser; Woosool never receives the password. They can answer on the same page, and their reply arrives encrypted in your inbox.

Delete a message early

Open Settings › Encryption › Password-protected messages. Each message shows its expiry and how many times it was opened. Select Delete now to remove it.

Plan

Password-protected messages are available on Pro, Business and Enterprise.
