Protect a PDF with a password
Require a password to open a PDF and limit printing, copying or editing.
- In the Protect workspace, choose Password protect.
- Enter the Password to open and Confirm password.
- Optionally set a Permissions password (optional) and choose Allow printing, Allow copying text and pictures, Allow comments and form filling and Allow editing.
- Save. The file is encrypted with AES-256.
To take the password off, open the PDF with it and choose Remove password, then save.
Waraq opens password-protected PDFs: enter the Password when asked. When you save, the protection is kept.
