Goal Seek, Solver and forecasts
Find the input that gives a result, optimise a model, or forecast a trend.
On the Data tab:
- Goal Seek — find the value a cell must have for a formula to reach a target.
- Solver — find the best values for several cells under constraints. Solver handles linear models.
- Forecast Sheet — extend a series of dated values with a linear trend and a chart.
